You stand by your principles and care for others, and people promote you.

Ability that was overlooked has a chance to show.

Stars
Empty PalaceNo main star, but Zuo Fu is here (a steady helping hand), so it isn't truly empty: read it first, then the borrowed stars.
Tai Yang NatureYou are warm and love looking after people, giving without keeping score. When you shine this much, save some light for yourself.
Tian Liang NatureYou are mature beyond your years and protective, often the one others lean on. Help without lecturing, and people warm to you more.
Auspicious Stars PresentPeople are willing to speak up for you. When it is time to show what you can do, put your results forward openly.
Sun in YouIn the opposite palace the Sun in You is near sunset, its light running short. You have real ability that is easy to overlook, so put your results out there yourself.
Borrowed StarsWith no main star in your Life Palace, your basic character is borrowed from Tai Yang and Tian Liang opposite, with less force than if they sat here. The people and setting around you shape you more deeply than most.
With Zuo FuClassical texts say Zuo Fu in a woman's chart marks someone worthy and bold, capable and high-spirited. Today, it means you take responsibility, and people can rely on you at home and beyond.“The Nature of Zuo Fu”
With Tian KuiClassical texts say Tian Kui or Tian Yue in the Life Palace makes a person graceful and clean-living. Today, it means a clear presence and open dealings, so people trust you easily.“The Nature of Lu Cun”
Life Master Wen QuYou are naturally expressive and artistic, and you get noticed through expression. Write, speak and make things. Your Life Master sits in your Siblings Palace, so your thoughts often circle around your peers.
Transformations
Trines: QuanShining in from the Career Palace (Ju Men Hua Quan): you push with more force.
This part follows the Flying Star school: where this palace's stem sends its transformations. It is a different method from the classical reading above.
Lu to WealthYou are your own source of income and can earn on your own ability. Investing in yourself pays best.
Ji to FortuneYou often wrestle with your own thoughts and think a lot. Find something that lets you switch off.

The Life Palace is about: Who you are at the core: your temperament and innate makeup. Every chart reading starts here.

Where the chart lines up

A guitar at sixteen and songs of her own

When Hardy passed her baccalauréat at 16, her father asked what gift she would like, and she chose a guitar, with which she began to sing her own songs; later, while studying German at the Sorbonne, she spent her free time composing and began performing at small venues. In her chart, the Body Palace falls in the Wealth Palace, which holds Tian Ji (Ping). Tian Ji is often read as thinking things through and tinkering with ideas, and her early songwriting can be read alongside it.

Her first record contract in 1961

On May 14, 1961, Hardy auditioned for Disques Vogue; on November 14 of the same year (nominal age 19), she signed a one-year contract with the label, to record Oh oh chéri. In the annual Four Transformations of 1961, Ju Men (Bu) takes Hua Lu (Transformation of Wealth) and enters her natal Career Palace. The Career Palace covers career, and Hua Lu is gain; the two can be read together.

From singer to astrology writer

Hardy became interested in astrology after consulting the astrologer André Barbault. She took public courses, learned to draw up a birth chart and read many specialized books, then studied traditional astrology for two years with Madame Godefroy; she went on to write a great deal on astrology and provided a daily horoscope on the radio. In her chart, the Fortune Palace holds Tai Yin (Xian) with Hua Ke (Transformation of Fame). The Fortune Palace covers interests and the mind, and Hua Ke is learning and a literary name; the two are worth setting side by side.
