Famous charts
178 people everyone knows, every chart built on a birth time from a birth certificate or record. Grouped by Life Palace star; open one to see the chart, the reading for each palace, and where the life lines up with it.
Why we made this
The hardest part of learning Zi Wei Dou Shu is linking what the books say about each star to real people. Checking against your own chart, it is hard to tell whether a reading fits. Checking against someone whose whole life is public is much clearer: what kind of person they were, which year they broke through, what they did, and whether the chart shows it.
There are plenty of celebrity charts online, but most never say where the birth time came from. One hour off and the Life Palace moves, so the whole chart changes. That is why this library only includes people whose birth time is documented.
Who is included
- Birth times rated Rodden AA by Astro-Databank, meaning a birth certificate or birth record. No interviews, biographies or "around noon".
- After converting to true solar time, anyone within 15 minutes of the line between two hours is left out: a few minutes either way would give a different chart.
- Anyone whose true solar time falls in the late Zi hour (23:00–24:00) is left out: schools disagree on whether it counts as that day or the next, which changes the chart.
- No living politicians. Historical figures are included, except war criminals and those responsible for atrocities.
- There are few East Asian names because their birth times mostly come from interviews or are not on record, so they do not reach AA.
How the charts are drawn
- Local clock time minus the offset in force then (including daylight saving and war time) gives universal time; adding the birthplace longitude correction and the equation of time gives true solar time, which sets the hour.
- The same defaults as the Xingge chart page: the year turns at Lunar New Year, the late Zi hour counts as the next day, and the transformations follow the Quan Shu.
What to look at on each page
- Where the life lines up: three or four well-known facts matched to the Life Palace, the transformations, a 10-year period or a year. Each point cites a source, and every star position comes from the chart itself.
- The chart: tap any palace for its reading, just like the chart page. Only the natal part is shown, with no "this year", since that means little for these lives.
- Life Palace, birth-year transformations and Life Palace patterns: each links to its own explainer.
- A match on the chart does not mean the chart caused it. These are comparisons for learning to read, not predictions.
