A perfectionist who destroyed his early works
Brahms was an extreme perfectionist who destroyed many early works, and said he had destroyed 20 string quartets before formally publishing his String Quartet No. 1 in 1873; his First Symphony took him from about 1861 to 1876, nearly fifteen years. In his chart, the Life Palace holds Lian Zhen (Miao). Lian Zhen is a principled star that draws its own boundaries, strongest at Miao, which lines up with his exacting standards for his work.
Source ↗Schumann's article championing him in 1853
In October 1853 (nominal age 21), Brahms visited the Schumanns in Düsseldorf with a letter of introduction from the violinist Joseph Joachim. In the 28 October issue of the Neue Zeitschrift für Musik, Schumann published the article New Paths, naming Brahms as one who would "give expression to the times in the highest and most ideal manner". In the annual Four Transformations of 1853, Tai Yin (Bu) takes Hua Ke (Transformation of Fame) and enters his natal Friends Palace. The Friends Palace covers friends and kindred spirits, and Hua Ke is reputation, which lines up with a friend opening the way to his fame.
Source ↗Conducting in Vienna, favouring early music
In 1863 Brahms became conductor of the Wiener Singakademie, programming many works by Schütz, Bach and other early masters; from 1872 to 1875 he was director of the concerts of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Vienna, using only professional players and a repertoire centred on early and "serious" music. In his chart, the Body Palace falls in the Career Palace, which holds Tian Fu (Wang). Tian Fu is a star of management and preservation, which fits his leading orchestras and valuing the traditional repertoire.
