In November 1938 (nominal age 32), she held her first solo exhibition at the Julien Levy Gallery in New York. Kahlo spent most of her childhood and adult life at La Casa Azul, the Blue House, her family home in Coyoacán, now open to the public as the Frida Kahlo Museum. Among her birth-year Four Transformations, Tian Tong with Hua Quan (Transformation of Power) falls in the Property Palace, with Tian Tong in Miao. The Property Palace stands for the home and the place one lives, and Hua Quan is being in charge. In 1943 she began teaching at the recently reformed Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado (La Esmeralda), encouraging her students to draw on Mexican folk art and street life. Her Career Palace has Wu Qu (Wang) and Tian Fu (Wang) as main stars, with Wen Chang (Xian) in the same palace. Wen Chang is the star of study and learning; even in a Xian position it gives the Career Palace an element of scholarship. Her teaching students as well as painting is in keeping with Wen Chang in the Career Palace.
