Writing as well as composing
From childhood Schumann's love of music ran alongside his love of literature: he wrote poems and plays as well as short piano pieces and songs, and in 1834 he co-founded the Neue Zeitschrift für Musik, which he edited for ten years. In his chart, among the Three Directions and Four Corners of the Life Palace, the Career Palace holds Wen Chang (Li). Wen Chang corresponds to writing and prose, and it shines from the Career Palace onto the Life Palace, which lines up with his taking up the pen and running a journal alongside composing.
Source ↗Falling in love with Clara and marrying in this decade
Clara was the daughter and star pupil of Schumann's piano teacher, Friedrich Wieck. In January 1836 she and Schumann declared their love to each other, and they married on September 12, 1840. In these years he was in his Fortune Palace Decade Luck (nominal ages 23–32, 1832–1841), and in the decade's Four Transformations Tian Ji (Ping) takes Hua Lu (Transformation of Wealth) and enters his natal Spouse Palace. The Spouse Palace covers one's partner, and Hua Lu is a good bond, which fits his falling in love with Clara and marrying her in this decade.
Source ↗A father who bought a piano and took him to concerts
Schumann's father, August, was a bookseller and publisher who made considerable sums from translating writers such as Walter Scott and Lord Byron. He was not particularly musical, but he encouraged his son, bought him a Streicher grand piano, and arranged trips to Leipzig to see Die Zauberflöte and to Carlsbad to hear the pianist Ignaz Moscheles. In his chart, the Parents Palace holds Lu Cun. Lu Cun is fortune and resources, matching the support his father gave him.
