Refusing to change his work on demand
In 1863 he made a bust of Father Eymard; the priest felt the hair suggested "the horns of the devil" and asked him to alter it, and Rodin refused. Later, when the Calais committee was unhappy with the progress of The Burghers of Calais, he said he would rather not do it at all than change the design. In his chart, the Life Palace holds Zi Wei (Wang). Zi Wei is the star of making one's own decisions: how the work is made is his call. That lines up with his refusal to change things to suit others.
Source ↗Taking on The Gates of Hell in 1880
In 1880, through the Undersecretary of Fine Arts Edmond Turquet, he received the commission for a portal for a planned museum of decorative arts in Paris, which became The Gates of Hell, along with a free studio; in 1882 he left the porcelain factory and lived on private commissions. This period falls in the Decade Luck of nominal ages 34–43 (1873–1882), and in the decade's Four Transformations Lian Zhen (Ping) takes Hua Lu (Transformation of Wealth) and Po Jun (Xian) takes Hua Quan (Transformation of Power), both entering the natal Career Palace: returns at work and the reins in hand, which fits this stretch of his life.
Source ↗Portrait commissions and financial independence
Portraits were an important part of Rodin's work and helped him win recognition and financial independence. His own pavilion beside the 1900 Paris Exposition brought him commissions for busts from prominent people of many countries, and portrait commissions alone earned him about 200,000 francs a year. In his chart, the Wealth Palace holds Wu Qu (Miao) with Hua Quan. Wu Qu is a wealth star and Hua Quan is control: his income lay in the hands of his own craft, which matches these commissions.
