Albert Einstein's Zi Wei Dou Shu chart
Physicist who developed the theory of relativity · born March 14, 1879 in Ulm, Germany
A physicist who gave the world relativity and who, as a boy, preferred his own reading to the school timetable. His Life Palace holds Zi Wei (Wang) with Tan Lang taking Hua Quan (Transformation of Power), and his Body Palace sits in the Life Palace too, a chart with a strong streak of self-direction.

Teaching himself mathematics from age twelve
Einstein began teaching himself algebra, calculus and Euclidean geometry when he was twelve, and later wrote that the school's strict rote learning was harmful to creativity. In his chart, the Life Palace holds Zi Wei (Wang) and Tan Lang (Li) with Hua Quan. Zi Wei is the star of making one's own decisions, and Hua Quan in the Life Palace puts control over what to learn, and how, in his own hands. That lines up with his habit of setting the timetable aside and finding his own books.
Source ↗The miracle year of 1905
In 1905 (nominal age 27), while still working at the patent office in Bern, he published four groundbreaking papers within a single year, a year later celebrated as an annus mirabilis, or miracle year. In the annual Four Transformations of 1905, Zi Wei takes Hua Ke (Transformation of Fame) and enters his natal Life Palace; Hua Ke stands for reputation and being seen. The main star of his Life Palace carrying Hua Ke that year lines up with these papers becoming the starting point of his scientific reputation.
Source ↗Two years without a teaching post
After graduating in 1900, he spent nearly two years applying for teaching posts without success, and only got into the patent office in Bern with help from the father of his classmate Marcel Grossmann. In his chart, the Parents Palace holds Ju Men (Xian), and the birth-year Wen Qu (Xian) with Hua Ji (Transformation of Obstruction) also falls here. The Parents Palace also covers teachers and superiors; with Hua Ji here, dealings with elders and bosses take extra effort. This stalled job search fits that position.
Source ↗General relativity in 1915
In 1915 (nominal age 37), he presented general relativity, bringing gravity into the framework of relativity. These years fall in the Decade Luck of his Children Palace (nominal ages 34–43). That palace holds Tai Yang (Wang), and in the decade's Four Transformations Tai Yang takes Hua Lu (Transformation of Wealth) and returns to the natal Children Palace, which is this decade's Life Palace itself. A bright Tai Yang sends its light outward and far; Hua Lu in the decade's Life Palace means ten years of plentiful returns. He completed general relativity during this stretch.
