The Strategist you know
You probably know someone with this star.
Tian Ji transforms into Goodness, closer in meaning to "good at": good at thinking, planning and adapting. Tell a friend with a strong Tian Ji about a problem, and they already have three ways to solve it, plus three ways each could go wrong.
Four spectrums
The spectrums are our modern way of drawing the stars. The method is public; it isn't from the classical texts.
What the classics say
The strategist star: a quick mind full of ideas, prone to overthinking.
Classical keywords: Transforms into Goodness; the star of wisdom. Thinking, planning and change, with a tendency to overthink. Better at work of the mind than of the hands.
In the twelve palaces
The same Tian Ji says different things in different palaces.
Life Palace
You think fast, have plenty of ideas and break things down before you look at them. Boredom is what you fear most, and you can easily overthink.
Spouse Palace
You like quick-minded people you can really talk to. In love you tend to second-guess, so things change more often.
Wealth Palace
You earn with your mind; planning, analysis and information can all pay. Your income rises and falls as often as your ideas do.
Career Palace
You suit work that uses your mind, such as planning, strategy, technology or consulting. Switching tracks is normal, so make sure your skills come with you.

Siblings Palace
Your peers tend to be clever, and you trade ideas with each other. Everyone has their own plans, though, so people come and go.
Children Palace
Your children or students tend to be sharp, and they often think differently from you. You are the one who comes up with ideas.
Health Palace
Your nerves tend to stay wound up, and you are still thinking at bedtime. Most of your tiredness is mental.
Travel Palace
Away from home you find plenty of opportunities and plenty of change. A new setting is often what helps you see clearly.
Friends Palace
Your friends tend to be idea people and the ones who hear the news first. Circles change fast; keep the ones who understand you.
Property Palace
You are more likely than most to move or change homes. You can make a home on the move, but keep something in reserve.
Fortune Palace
Your mind never stops; you love researching and learning new things. Thinking too much is a burden you don't mind carrying.
Parents Palace
With your elders there is more reasoning than warmth. When neither side gives way, hear them out first.
