2027 Four Transformations: Tai Yin, Tian Tong, Tian Ji and Ju Men

2027 is a Ding Wei year. In Zi Wei Dou Shu, a Ding year gives four stars a particular push: Tai Yin takes Hua Lu, Tian Tong takes Hua Quan, Tian Ji takes Hua Ke and Ju Men takes Hua Ji.

All four stars appear on every chart. What differs is which palace they sit in. Ju Men with Hua Ji in the Career Palace and Ju Men with Hua Ji in the Spouse Palace read as two different things. So there's no one-line "2027 forecast". First find where these four stars sit on your chart, then see which of your palaces the year's Life Palace lands in. This note takes them in that order.

Why 2027 is a Ding Wei year

Years are counted with the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches: ten stems and twelve branches paired in turn, repeating every sixty years. 2027's stem is Ding and its branch is Wei, so it's a Ding Wei year. The last one was 1967; the next is 2087.

The stem sets the year's four transformations; the branch sets which box is the year's Life Palace. In 2026, a Bing Wu year, the year's palace was the Wu box; in 2027 it moves to the Wei box.

When does the year start?

Zi Wei Dou Shu changes year at the Lunar New Year, not on January 1 and not at Li Chun (the start of spring). In 2027 the Lunar New Year falls on February 6.

So from January 1 to February 5, 2027, Zi Wei still counts it as the Bing Wu year. The Ding Wei transformations and the new yearly palace start on February 6. Some software and Ba Zi methods switch at Li Chun, which can make the year look off by a few days. Zi Wei uses the Lunar New Year.

The Ding year transformations

The *Quan Shu* (The Complete Book of Zi Wei Dou Shu) keeps a short rhyme for the transformations, one line per stem. The Ding line names the moon, Tian Tong, Tian Ji and Ju Men. "The moon" is Tai Yin, and the four take Hua Lu, Hua Quan, Hua Ke and Hua Ji in that order.

These four stars have something in common. Tai Yin, Tian Tong and Tian Ji belong to the group the classics call Ji Yue Tong Liang, and Ju Men often shares a palace with Tian Ji or Tian Tong. The whole set leans toward thinking, feeling and speaking rather than charging ahead and making the call. What gets pushed this year is mostly what happens in your head and your heart.

What each transformation means

The Four Transformations aren't new stars. They're tags attached to an existing star that add a particular drive. The same star reads very differently with Hua Lu and with Hua Ji.

Hua Lu: connection and gain

The *Quan Shu* calls Hua Lu a spirit of blessings. Wherever it lands, things in that palace go more smoothly and tend to bring something in. The reminder: what comes easily also scatters easily, so keep some of it when it arrives.

Hua Quan: wanting to take charge

The classics describe Hua Quan as the star that holds the power to decide. Today it reads as: in the Hua Quan palace, you want the final say and you're more willing to take responsibility. Used well, it's leadership; overused, it becomes control.

Hua Ke: being seen and recognised

The classics link Hua Ke with exams and writing. Today it means being assessed, being noticed and earning a good reputation.

Hua Ji: caring a lot and holding on

The classics call Hua Ji a spirit that wants to manage everything: everything is taken to heart, everything has to be under control. Hua Ji is often called the troublesome one, but it marks where you put the most care. The same passage ends with a line of advice, roughly: in your affairs, aim for seventy percent. In the Hua Ji palace you tend to aim for more than a hundred. The old advice is to leave yourself some room.

The four stars of 2027

Tai Yin with Hua Lu: gains that build slowly

The *Quan Shu* calls Tai Yin the lord of the Property Palace and links it to wealth. Its nature is sensitive, reserved and security-minded. Tai Yin's Hua Lu tends to bring gains that build up over time rather than one big windfall, often tied to home, where you live and what you've saved. In the Wealth Palace, income tends to grow quietly; watch for spending a little too comfortably without noticing. In the Property Palace, steady work on your home and savings tends to pay off.

Tian Tong with Hua Quan: the easy-going one asked to lead

Tian Tong is the lord of the Fortune Palace: easy-going, comfort-loving and not keen on hassle. Hua Quan pushes this unambitious star into the position of making decisions, often in the form of leading people gently. In the Life Palace, you find firmer opinions inside your easy manner. In the Spouse Palace, you want to set the pace of the relationship yourself; agree early on who decides what, so closeness doesn't turn into a tug of war.

Tian Ji with Hua Ke: a clear mind gets noticed

The *Quan Shu* says Tian Ji transforms into Goodness. It's quick-minded and loves to plan, and it can overthink. Hua Ke makes that brainpower visible: exams, certifications and any work that rewards analysis and planning are where it shines. In the Career Palace, your professional image speaks for you. In the Parents Palace, reasoning with elders and bosses lands more easily.

Ju Men with Hua Ji: take a little more care with words

The classics call Ju Men a star of yin essence that transforms into the Hidden. It asks questions and notices what others miss. Hua Ji turns that questioning into something hard to let go: your words are easily misread, and you may keep turning over what someone else meant. In the Spouse Palace, one sentence can spark a misunderstanding or a cold spell, and saying things plainly saves effort compared with testing the waters. In the Friends Palace, things can go unsaid between friends or colleagues; stating your boundaries and expectations beats guessing.

The year's Life Palace is the Wei box

The year's palace follows the year's branch. 2027 is a Wei year, so for everyone the year's Life Palace is the Wei box. But which of your palaces that box is, and which stars live there, differs from person to person.

  1. Find the Wei box. Draw your chart and find the box with the Wei branch.
  2. See which palace it is. If Wei is your Career Palace, the year's focus is often work; if it's your Spouse Palace, love is where you'll feel it; if it's your Property Palace, home and where you live come to the front.
  3. See who lives there. The main stars in that box set the year's tone. If it's empty, borrow the main stars from the Chou box opposite.
  4. Read its San Fang Si Zheng. The Wei box, the Chou box opposite and the Mao and Hai boxes in its trines: read the four together.

A line in the *Quan Shu*'s passage on the yearly cycle says, roughly: when the year arrives at the Life Palace, its good and bad are felt most strongly. If your natal Life Palace happens to be in Wei, 2027 is that kind of year, and the stars in that box and this year's transformations deserve a closer look. A step-by-step guide is in How to Check Your 2027 Year on Your Own Chart.

When the transformed stars sit in Wei

Some people's Wei box already holds one of this year's transformed stars. If Tian Tong and Ju Men share your Wei box, the year's Life Palace holds both Tian Tong with Hua Quan and Ju Men with Hua Ji: you want to set the pace, while your words are easily misread. Thinking one step ahead before you speak is worth more than usual this year.

Reading the transformations by palace

You can also skip the yearly palace and just look at which palace each of the four stars sits in. Some common positions:

  • Life Palace: Hua Lu gives a gentle presence that puts people at ease; Hua Quan gives firm opinions inside an easy manner; Hua Ke gets your reasoning and clarity recognised; Hua Ji tends to start debates with yourself, so separate facts from imagination first.
  • Wealth Palace: Hua Lu means income that builds slowly; Hua Quan means you'll bet big on what you love, so keep a reserve for the future; Hua Ke means planned finances and income from expertise and reputation; Hua Ji means you watch where every bit of money goes and feel safest when the accounts are clear.
  • Career Palace: Hua Lu makes it easier to get results in the right role; Hua Quan helps you step into a leading role; Hua Ke gets your analysis and planning noticed; Hua Ji makes you great at spotting problems and gaps, so turn the analysis into expertise rather than inner friction.
  • Spouse Palace: Hua Lu draws you to sensitive people, and feeling matters a lot; Hua Quan wants to set the relationship's pace; Hua Ke likes a partner you can talk and reason with; Hua Ji means a single sentence can cause a misunderstanding, so say the problem plainly.

These are tendencies, not forecasts. Push a little further where Hua Lu sits; slow down and double-check where Hua Ji sits.

Born in a Ding year: transformations stacked on one star

If you were born in 1967, 1977, 1987, 1997, 2007 or 2017, your birth year was also a Ding year, and your birth-year transformations match 2027's exactly. If you were born in January or early February, go by the lunar year: a birthday before that year's Lunar New Year belongs to the previous year, a Bing year, with different transformations.

In that case each of the four stars is tagged twice. Tai Yin with Hua Lu at birth and again this year is ease on top of ease; Ju Men with Hua Ji at birth and again this year means that palace asks for more patience in 2027. Practitioners call this two layers of transformations stacking, and the stacked palace is felt more strongly. It's worth a closer look, but it doesn't mean anything in particular will happen.

FAQ

What are the 2027 Four Transformations?

2027 is a Ding Wei year, and the Ding transformations are Tai Yin with Hua Lu, Tian Tong with Hua Quan, Tian Ji with Hua Ke and Ju Men with Hua Ji. These four stars are on everyone's chart; which palaces they sit in tells you where the year flows more easily and where it asks for more care.

When does 2027 start in Zi Wei Dou Shu?

At the Lunar New Year, which is February 6, 2027. From January 1 to February 5, Zi Wei Dou Shu still counts it as the Bing Wu year. Switching at Li Chun is a different method that Zi Wei doesn't use.

What should I watch with Ju Men's Hua Ji in 2027?

Ju Men's Hua Ji is about words and communication: things you say are easily misread, and you may keep turning over what others meant. The palace it sits in tells you which relationships need things said more clearly. Asking once, directly, usually saves more effort than hinting and guessing.

How do I find my 2027 yearly Life Palace?

2027 is a Wei year, so the year's Life Palace is the Wei box on your chart. Draw your chart, find the Wei box, and see which palace it is on your natal chart and which main stars live there. If it has no main star, borrow the main stars from the Chou box opposite.
