Discovering X-rays in 1895
On the evening of November 8, 1895 (nominal age 51), Röntgen was experimenting with vacuum tubes in his laboratory at the University of Würzburg when he noticed a fluorescent screen several feet away faintly glowing. In the following weeks he ate and slept in his laboratory, and temporarily termed the unknown rays "X-rays". In 1895 his annual Life Palace returns to the natal Life Palace, and in the annual Four Transformations Zi Wei (Miao) takes Hua Ke here as well. Hua Ke is reputation: the German word for X-ray comes from his name, which lines up with this discovery.
Source ↗Following Professor Kundt from school to school
As a student in Zurich, Röntgen was the favourite student of Professor August Kundt. In 1870 he followed Kundt to the University of Würzburg, and in 1873 on to the University of Strasbourg, where he became a lecturer the following year. In his chart, the Parents Palace has no main star and is read through the opposite palace's Tian Liang (Miao) with Hua Quan (Transformation of Power). The Parents Palace also covers teachers; Tian Liang is a star of shelter and care. Following his teacher from school to school and starting out at his side fits this combination.
Source ↗No patent on X-rays
Like the Curies, Röntgen refused to take out patents related to his discovery of X-rays, as he wanted society as a whole to benefit from its practical applications. In his chart, the Wealth Palace has Lu Cun, together with Di Kong in the same palace. The Wealth Palace covers money; with Di Kong beside Lu Cun, the money palace places little weight on accumulating, which matches his not patenting this discovery.
