Hua Ji from the Property Palace into all twelve palaces: how Flying Star readers see each line
How do you read the Property Palace Hua Ji flying into each palace? The Flying Star school starts from the stem of the Property Palace, looks up the Hua Ji star that stem produces, and finds the palace of the chart where that star sits: that is where your concern for home and where you live flows. If the Hua Ji star lands back in the Property Palace itself, it is called Property Palace Self-Hua Ji. There are twelve landing palaces, each one a line, and this page reads them from the Life Palace and Siblings Palace down to the Parents Palace. Palace-stem flying transformations are not found in the Zi Wei Dou Shu Quan Shu (the Quan Shu); everything below is the Flying Star school’s reading, and it is about where your energy goes, not a forecast of what will happen at home.
On this page
The Property Palace stem, and which star becomes Hua Ji
The stem of the Property Palace is worked out from the stem of your birth year and the earthly branch where the Property Palace sits (the Five Tigers rule, 五虎遁). Each of the ten stems produces one Hua Ji star: Jia gives Tai Yang, Yi gives Tai Yin, Bing gives Lian Zhen, Ding gives Ju Men, Wu gives Tian Ji, Ji gives Wen Qu, Geng gives Tian Tong, Xin gives Wen Chang, Ren gives Wu Qu, Gui gives Tan Lang, so each star comes up in about 10% of charts. If the landing palace has no main star, the Hua Ji star that sits there can only be Wen Chang or Wen Qu.
The chart counts come from 262,980 charts: every day and every double-hour from 1950 to 2009, charted once each. Each chart has only one landing palace, so the twelve lines add up to exactly this number, and each line holds 8.1% to 8.5%, a small spread. Brightness and the main stars in the same palace come from a sample (one day out of every seven, all twelve double-hours charted, 37,572 charts in total). When the Hua Ji star is a main star, brightness falls into two groups. For the Life, Spouse, Wealth, Travel, Career and Fortune palaces, Miao or Wang is 39% to 42% and Xian is 16% to 21%; for the Siblings, Children, Health, Friends and Parents palaces and for Property Palace Self-Hua Ji, Miao or Wang is 46% to 52% and Xian is 10% to 14%.
What the Property Palace governs, and how to read Hua Ji flying in, Hua Ji clash and self-transformation
On Xingge, the Property Palace covers real estate and the home environment, and also whether you feel settled inside and whether things stay with you. The Flying Star school says Lu follows Ji: wherever the Hua Ji star flies, the concern of the Property Palace flows there. There is also the Hua Ji clash: when Hua Ji flies into a palace, its force strikes the palace directly opposite at the same time, so besides the landing palace, each line also looks at the palace across from it. Self-Hua Ji is different: the Hua Ji star sits in the Property Palace itself, and Xingge’s reading is that home or house matters often keep you worrying and money tends to go there too; it is not written up as a clash. Schools read 「忌」 (“Ji”) differently; it can be read as owing, fixation, concern or storing away, and each section gives the most common reading.
Hua Ji flavors borrowed in each Property Palace section
Each section now and then borrows Xingge’s description of Hua Ji in the Life Palace, reworded to describe the texture of the concern. It covers seven stars: Tai Yang, Tian Ji, Ju Men, Tan Lang, Tian Tong, Lian Zhen and Tai Yin. Those descriptions were originally written for people whose birth-year Hua Ji sits in the Life Palace; they are not the Flying Star school’s own words, so treat them as a reference only. Wu Qu, Wen Chang and Wen Qu have no line to borrow, so none is borrowed. Xingge has no fixed way to read whether a Hua Ji star is bright or dim, so what the sections say about brightness is some teachers’ view.
The twelve lines
Property Palace Hua Ji into the Life Palace · Property Palace Hua Ji into the Siblings Palace · Property Palace Hua Ji into the Spouse Palace · Property Palace Hua Ji into the Children Palace · Property Palace Hua Ji into the Wealth Palace · Property Palace Hua Ji into the Health Palace · Property Palace Hua Ji into the Travel Palace · Property Palace Hua Ji into the Friends Palace · Property Palace Hua Ji into the Career Palace · Property Palace self-Hua Ji · Property Palace Hua Ji into the Fortune Palace · Property Palace Hua Ji into the Parents Palace
Property Palace Hua Ji into the Life Palace
Why do home matters turn into your own matters? The Flying Star school reads Property Palace Hua Ji flying into the Life Palace as the concern for home and where you live landing back on you personally: where you live and how home is arranged directly move your mood. It speaks of where energy goes and does not forecast what will happen at home.
The Life Palace takes in the home’s Hua Ji: home matters become 「我」 (“me”) matters
On Xingge the Property Palace covers real estate and the home environment, and it also touches whether you can keep things and settle your mind. When its stem produces a Hua Ji star that lands in the Life Palace, the plain meaning is this: home matters are no longer only home matters, they become part of who you are. The scenes look like this: before leaving the house you have to check that everything is put away; one remark from someone you live with stays on your mind for half a day; when the mood at home is off, you tighten up too. The reverse also holds: when home is calm, your own state is clearly steadier.
One school reads the direction the other way round: it is not that you cannot let go of home, but that home matters keep finding you and everyone is used to handing decisions to you (Xingge has not adopted this reading). Both readings point to the same thing, that there is no gap left between home and you. The Flying Star school also has the Hua Ji clash rule: Hua Ji flying into a palace strikes the palace opposite it as well. Opposite the Life Palace is the Travel Palace, so even when you are out of the house, home is still on your mind.
How many charts have Property Hua Ji in the Life Palace, and which Hua Ji star
There are 21,176 charts where the Property Palace Hua Ji flies into the Life Palace, about 8.1%, the smallest of the twelve lines, roughly one chart in twelve. Each of the ten Hua Ji stars is about 10%: Wu Qu Hua Ji leads at about 10.9% and Ju Men Hua Ji trails at about 9.1%, a gap of under two percentage points, so there is no ranking to speak of. The brightness on this line leans dim: when the Hua Ji star is a main star, about 20% of the time it is Xian, the highest share of Xian among the twelve lines. If the Life Palace holds Tan Lang alone it is about 12%, and Ju Men, Tian Ji and Tian Tong are about 7% to 8% each. Only about 3.7% of these charts have no main star in the Property Palace itself, far fewer than the roughly one in six of an ordinary chart.
The flavor is borrowed from Xingge’s Life Palace Hua Ji lines, reworded: Tan Lang Hua Ji wants a lot and feels it has not given home enough; Tai Yin Hua Ji draws feelings deep inside and takes in everything family members left unsaid. These two lines are not specific to the Property Palace; they are borrowed to show the same temperament applied to home matters.
A Life Palace carrying the home’s Hua Ji: draw a line around home matters
The point of this line is to keep home matters and your own state in separate places. Start by listing home matters in two columns: what you can decide alone, and what needs a talk with the people you live with. Do not sit on the second column waiting for the other person to speak; set a regular time, say it all, then close it, and do not replay it at other times.
Give yourself a corner or a time slot that does not belong to home, such as reading, a walk or seeing a friend, so your mood has another source. Do not treat this line as a verdict on character: the main stars of the Life Palace, the Three Harmonies and Four Directions and the birth-year Four Transformations are the base color, and palace-stem flying transformations are only a magnifying glass. If you do not much care about home matters to begin with, there is no need to force this line on yourself.
Property Palace Hua Ji into the Siblings Palace
Why are you always the one thinking about the family home and shared spaces? In the Flying Star school’s reading, Property Palace Hua Ji flying into the Siblings Palace links the concern for home and where you live to siblings, to peers, and to the people who share the household chores. It describes where your thoughts go and does not judge your siblings.
The Siblings Palace receives the Property Palace’s Hua Ji: the family home, shared space and dealings with siblings
The Siblings Palace covers siblings and your closest peers, and the Property Palace covers home and where you live. When the Property Palace’s Hua Ji flies into the Siblings Palace, the scenes are concrete: matters about the family home have to be talked over with brothers and sisters, someone has to look after the shared space, and the arrangements for holidays need coordinating every time. If you have no siblings, read it as roommates or peers in the family who live with you. None of this is serious, but it keeps occupying your mind.
Reading the Siblings Palace as the cash in your hand is an extended reading from Flying Star teachers, not what Xingge’s palace page means; on that reading, the cost of keeping up the home often takes up the money you can move. The two readings can be set side by side, and you can use whichever fits your life first. The Hua Ji clash reaches the opposite Friends Palace, so home matters may also affect your mood with friends and colleagues.
Charts with the Property Hua Ji in the Siblings Palace: what shows up among twenty-two thousand charts
There are 22,114 charts where the Property Palace Hua Ji lands in the Siblings Palace, about 8.4%, roughly one chart in twelve. Wu Qu Hua Ji and Tian Ji Hua Ji are tied in front (about 11.4% each), Tan Lang Hua Ji trails at about 9.1%, and the two minor stars Wen Chang and Wen Qu together make up about 20%. Brightness belongs to the higher group; if the Siblings Palace holds Tai Yin alone it is about 9%, and Tai Yang alone about 7%.
In about 14% of these charts the Hua Ji produced by the Siblings Palace’s own stem flies back into the Property Palace, while other non-self lines average about 6%. These two palaces are sometimes like two people thinking of each other: home thinks of siblings, and siblings’ matters pull back on home. Whether the Hua Ji star is Miao or Wang, or Xian, Xingge has not written down; some teachers say that when it is bright the concern is one you can carry, and only when it is dim does it feel more like a burden.
The Siblings Palace holding home’s Hua Ji: settle the division of home duties first
What wears people down most on this line is that everyone assumes you will handle it. In practice, you can do this: for matters about the family home or shared space, hold one explaining conversation, write in a few lines who is responsible for what and when to report back, and put it in the family group chat; after that, follow it the same way without renegotiating each time.
It also helps to look at cash in hand and household money separately: keep what is fixed and what is added at the last minute in separate places, and decide the amounts yourself. As for the bond between siblings, this line cannot say whether it is warm or cool; it only reminds you that on home matters you are more likely to think things over a bit too much.
Property Palace Hua Ji into the Spouse Palace
Property Palace Hua Ji flying into the Spouse Palace ties the space of home to the person closest to you: the state of the home moves how the two of you get along, and how you get along in turn changes how you feel about home. This is the Flying Star school’s reading; if you have no partner right now, read it as what you hope for in sharing a home.
The Spouse Palace takes in the home’s Hua Ji: home is a matter for two
The Spouse Palace looks at your partner and the relationship you want, and the Property Palace looks at home. When the Property Palace stem produces Hua Ji and flies it into the Spouse Palace, the common scenes are these: how to arrange things, who tidies up, whether to move, you take all these small matters into the relationship; one offhand remark from your partner may take you a while to turn over. For some people it runs the other way: when the two of you get along well, even home becomes a place you want to return to.
Another school does not put the weight on a partner but reads the Spouse Palace as a one-to-one partnership; then this line is about entanglements over space and responsibility with a business partner or someone you share a home with. People without a partner can read it this way too. The Hua Ji clash reaches the opposite Career Palace: home matters may pull away your focus at work.
The Spouse Palace receiving Property Hua Ji: common charts and Hua Ji stars
There are 22,301 charts where the Spouse Palace receives the Property Palace Hua Ji, 8.5% of the total. Tai Yin Hua Ji is about 11.0%, Tian Ji Hua Ji and Tai Yang Hua Ji about 10.6% each, and Tian Tong Hua Ji the lowest at about 9.0%; the gap from top to bottom is under two percentage points, so do not treat it as a ranking.
Two more ratios. The Hua Ji from the Spouse Palace’s own stem flies back into the Property Palace in about 9.5%. Charts where the Property Palace itself has no main star and has to borrow the main stars of the opposite Children Palace are about 24%, somewhat more than the roughly one in six of an ordinary chart. If the Spouse Palace holds only Tan Lang as its one main star, it is about 12%. When the Hua Ji star is Tai Yang, borrowing Xingge’s Life Palace Hua Ji line, it is the habit of lighting up others and hiding your own tiredness; at home that means not wanting your partner to see you tired. Tian Tong Hua Ji keeps the mood soft and gentle, and puts home needs of your own last.
The Spouse Palace carrying home’s Hua Ji: how two people can talk about home lightly
First sort home matters into everyday ones and big decisions. For everyday ones, like sharing chores, agree on a regular time to check in and that is enough. For big decisions, like moving or buying a large item, each write down what you want first and then sit down to talk, so neither of you is guessing about the other.
If you tend to hide your tiredness, practice saying one sentence in the first hour after you get home: I am a bit tired today. When reading this line, do not take it as a verdict on where the relationship is heading: whether it goes smoothly still depends on the main stars of the Spouse Palace and how you actually get along, and this line only adds one sentence, that home is the place you two most often need to coordinate.
Property Palace Hua Ji into the Children Palace
The Children Palace is exactly opposite the Property Palace, so Property Palace Hua Ji flying into the Children Palace is often read by the Flying Star school as home and children, or younger people (including students and people you lead), pulling on each other; you worry about their growing environment and living space. People without children can read it too.
The Children Palace welcomes the Property Palace’s Hua Ji: who is the home being kept for
The Children Palace looks at children and younger people, and also at the way you lead people and create. When the Property Palace’s Hua Ji flies in, the scenes look like this: the child’s room, the place to study, which school district to move near, all things you have thought about a great deal. With no children, it can be the students or team you lead, or a work that is still growing, and you prepare a good environment for them. The space of home, in your mind, has someone it is for.
Because the Children Palace is the opposite palace of the Property Palace, this line has something special: Hua Ji entering the opposite palace clashes back onto the Property Palace itself. Some teachers say this makes home matters and children’s matters pull on each other, so when one side moves, the other has to be dealt with too. Another school does not read it this way and treats the two palaces simply as each other’s background. Here we do not choose for you; both views are left for you to compare.
Property Hua Ji landing in the Children Palace: what the charts have in common
There are 22,374 charts where the Property Palace Hua Ji lands in the Children Palace, about 8.5%. Ju Men Hua Ji and Tan Lang Hua Ji are about 11.0% each, the two minor stars Wen Chang and Wen Qu with Hua Ji together make up about 20%, and the other stars are not far apart. Brightness leans high; if the Children Palace holds Tai Yang alone it is about 7.5%, and Tai Yin alone about 7%.
There is one clear number: in the charts of this line, the Property Palace has no main star in about 42%, against about one in six for an ordinary chart. An empty Property Palace borrows the main stars of the opposite palace, which is exactly the Children Palace, so in these charts the look of home has to be read from the stars of the Children Palace. Ju Men Hua Ji, borrowing Xingge’s Life Palace Hua Ji line, swallows its words back and turns them over, and at home that is worry about the children, thinking three times before saying anything.
The Children Palace holding home’s Hua Ji: keep the home for the children, and keep room for yourself
The effort on this line is very real, but it is easy to give all the space to others. Start by keeping a fixed spot for yourself, even just a corner of a desk, so that home is also your home.
With children or younger people, turn I am worried into concrete questions: what kind of quiet do you need? Which day this week do you want to be on your own? Give them a chance to say it, and your concern no longer has to rely on guessing. Thinking a lot is this line’s signature, not a flaw; spend it on preparing the environment and it is lighter than spending it on checking again and again.
Property Palace Hua Ji into the Wealth Palace
Why do household costs keep you watching your account? Property Palace Hua Ji flying into the Wealth Palace is, in the Flying Star school, the concern on the home and where-you-live side flowing into how you earn and spend. Xingge has described Wealth Palace Hua Ji into the Property Palace as money pulled into the home; this line points the other way, with home pulling on money. It is also not investment advice.
The Wealth Palace hears home’s Hua Ji: household spending looks back at the money
Xingge reads Wealth Palace Hua Ji into the Property Palace as wealth going into storage: money is drawn into the home and the house, it stays, but cash in hand is tighter. Think of the Property Palace as the storehouse and the Wealth Palace as the gate where money comes and goes. This time the Hua Ji flies from the storehouse to the gate, and the meaning flips: the cost of keeping up the home and what you have built up make you check again and again whether income is enough. The scene is working out the household budget at the start of the month, and when home wants one more thing, your first move is to open your account.
One school reads it as taking what is in the storehouse out for use, that is, what has built up at home often comes to mind as something to turn over. That is only another view; it is not a forecast, and it does not tell you what to do with the assets in your home. The Hua Ji clash reaches the opposite Fortune Palace: money spent on home connects to whether you feel content inside.
The Wealth Palace receiving Property Hua Ji: Hua Ji stars and the back-and-forth between the two palaces
There are 22,267 charts where Property Palace Hua Ji goes into the Wealth Palace, about 8.5%. Ju Men Hua Ji and Tan Lang Hua Ji are about 11.3% each and Tai Yin Hua Ji about 8.0%, a gap of just over three percentage points; Tai Yin Hua Ji only appears when the Property Palace stem is Yi, and that group is 1,780 charts.
Now the back-and-forth between the two palaces: the Hua Ji from the Wealth Palace’s own stem flies back into the Property Palace in about 8.5%, meaning in a minority of charts money and home keep thinking of each other; Wealth Palace Self-Hua Ji is about 6%. If the Wealth Palace holds Tan Lang alone it is about 13%, and Ju Men alone about 9%. Borrowing Xingge’s Life Palace Hua Ji lines: Ju Men Hua Ji tends to argue with itself, which at household spending means you want to replace something and go back and forth inside for a long time; Tan Lang Hua Ji has many desires and feels it is not good enough, so the home décor often wants one more addition.
The Wealth Palace carrying home’s Hua Ji: keep household money and pocket money apart
The practice for this line is plain: record fixed and flexible home spending separately. For the fixed items, such as rent, utilities and management fees, look once a month on the same day; for the flexible ones, such as purchases and renovation, put them on a wish list first and look again after a few days to see if you still want them. How much goes on the list is up to you.
Also keep a separate allowance that does not belong to home, so that you have a place outside home where spending feels good; this echoes the Fortune Palace that gets struck. When reading this line, do not drift toward investing: it describes how sensitive you are about home and money, not which decision pays better. For big matters like buying, selling or loans, decide by your own real circumstances.
Property Palace Hua Ji into the Health Palace
Being home and still unable to let go is a common feeling when Property Palace Hua Ji flies into the Health Palace: the Flying Star school reads the concern for home and where you live as flowing to the place where your stress builds up, so the mood at home and your living environment directly move your feelings and sense of load. This section talks only about stress and emotion and forecasts nothing.
The Health Palace takes in home’s Hua Ji: the mood at home becomes the place where stress builds
On Xingge the Health Palace covers constitution and also the way you face pressure and settle your feelings; here only the second is read. When the Property Palace’s Hua Ji flies into the Health Palace, the plain meaning is this: home matters easily become an outlet for your stress, or the home environment itself is where stress builds up. Scenes: you get home and cannot loosen up, one unfinished matter at home stays on your mind all evening; or the opposite, home has always been your source of strength, and once it is noisy, messy or full of arguments, the sense of load is clearer than anywhere else.
Some Flying Star teachers extend the Health Palace into the energy reserve you have for getting things done; on that reading, this line is home draining or topping up that reserve. The Property Palace and the Health Palace are two palaces of one trine (san he, 三合) and support each other, so the two aspects are often mentioned together. Opposite the Health Palace is the Parents Palace, and by the Hua Ji clash rule, matters of elders and paperwork can easily be pulled in too.
Charts with Property Hua Ji in the Health Palace: numbers and Hua Ji stars
On the Health Palace side there are 21,559 charts, about 8.2%. Lian Zhen Hua Ji is about 11.7% and Wu Qu Hua Ji about 8.6%, a gap of just over three percentage points, with the stars in between all around 10%. This line belongs to the higher brightness group; if the Health Palace holds Tai Yang alone it is about 7.5%, and Tai Yin alone is about the same.
The Hua Ji from the Health Palace’s own stem flies back into the Property Palace in about 13.5%, one of the higher figures among the non-self lines, meaning these two palaces have a fair chance of pulling on each other. Xingge’s Life Palace Hua Ji temperament line for Lian Zhen Hua Ji is borrowed here: many principles and strong feelings, easily competing with yourself or others; at home that means being firm about the rules of daily life and feeling tense when others do not follow them. Ju Men Hua Ji swallows its words back and thinks them over again and again, so what you want to say to family keeps turning in your mind.
The Health Palace leaves stress an outlet, so home becomes a place you can put things down
The focus is on giving stress somewhere to go. Set aside a spot or a time at home where no matters are discussed and you do only what relaxes you, and let your family know it is yours. For arguments at home or unfinished matters, agree on a time to talk them through together, then close them, and do not carry them into other times.
You can also say how you feel without turning it into reasoning; one sentence, home matters make me a bit tense today, is enough. When reading this line, do not take it as a forecast; it only says that the link between home and stress is more visible. The main stars, the Three Harmonies and Four Directions and the other palaces are the base color of the whole chart.
Property Palace Hua Ji into the Travel Palace
Property Palace Hua Ji flying into the Travel Palace is often read as the concern for home flowing outward: when you are away, out of the house or in a new environment, your mind is still on home. This is the Flying Star school’s reading; it speaks of where your energy goes and is not a forecast about moving or trips.
The Travel Palace takes in home’s Hua Ji: you are outside, but your mind is still at home
The Travel Palace looks at going out, how you do outside and your relationship with the outside world, and it sits at the opposite end from the Property Palace, at home versus away. When the Property Palace’s Hua Ji flies there, the scenes are these: on a business trip you keep thinking of matters at home, on a trip a message from family makes you tense, and when you move or change cities you feel the old place still has something you did not hand over.
Some teachers read it the other way: you cannot stay at home, so you go out, and going out is an outlet for the pressure of home. What both readings share is that the back-and-forth between home and outside is more frequent. Opposite the Travel Palace is the Life Palace, so the Hua Ji clash reaches the Life Palace, and in the end the matter comes back to you and becomes your mood.
The Travel Palace receiving Property Hua Ji: what the charts look like
There are 22,372 charts where the Travel Palace receives this line, about 8.5%. Lian Zhen Hua Ji is about 11.0% and Wu Qu Hua Ji about 8.3%, the lowest of the ten, with the rest around 10% each. The Hua Ji from the Travel Palace’s own stem flies back into the Property Palace in only about 4%, below the roughly 6% average of the non-self lines. This line belongs to the dimmer brightness group; among the main stars that sit alone in the Travel Palace, Tan Lang is about 13% and Tian Tong about 9%.
For comparison, borrowing Xingge’s Life Palace Hua Ji temperament lines: Lian Zhen Hua Ji has strong principles and only feels at ease once home is arranged to fit its rules before going out; Tan Lang Hua Ji has many desires, a strong urge to leave home and see the world, and still feels it is not good enough yet; Tian Tong Hua Ji looks after the mood, and even outside worries that someone at home is unhappy.
The Travel Palace tied to home’s Hua Ji: one small thing before and after going out
Before going out, turn what needs handling at home into a list and let the person staying home know it. While you are away, agree on one contact window and let go the rest of the time. After coming home, spend a little time sorting what you brought back, which also leaves a proper ending for returning home.
If you are considering moving or an overseas posting, this line is a reminder to think through the home end first before setting out, so you are less likely to be distracted away from home. It is not urging you to move or not to move; the decision still depends on your real circumstances.
Property Palace Hua Ji into the Friends Palace
Do you think longer than others about who may visit and who may move in? Once the Hua Ji star of the Property Palace lands in the Friends Palace, the Flying Star school ties the concern for home and where you live to friends, colleagues and the people you lead; it speaks of where your thoughts go and does not judge your social ability.
The Friends Palace pulls on home’s Hua Ji: who gets into your home
On Xingge the Friends Palace looks at friends, colleagues and subordinates, and the Property Palace looks at home. Put together, the scenes are these: how often friends come over, people staying with you, whether to host a colleagues’ gathering at home, you think twice about all of them; a roommate’s habits and how you deal with neighbors weigh more in your mind than for others. For you, home is a rather private place, and who comes in is something to consider.
Another school reads this line as home being used as a social venue: the house is lively, people come and go, but you also have more people to look after. The difference between the two readings is whether what you feel in it is a boundary or warmth. By the Hua Ji clash rule, the clash falls on the Siblings Palace, so matters of siblings and peers may be brought in too.
The Friends Palace receiving Property Hua Ji: Hua Ji stars and one special number
There are 21,607 charts where the Property Palace Hua Ji lands in the Friends Palace, 8.2% of the total. Wen Chang, Tian Tong, Ju Men and Tai Yin Hua Ji are each about 10%, and Tan Lang and Wu Qu Hua Ji each about 9%, slightly fewer.
There is one special number: the Hua Ji produced by the Friends Palace’s own stem also sits in the Friends Palace in about 25% of charts, against an average of about 17% across the twelve lines. The palace that the concern of home flows into is itself spinning, which can be read as thinking about friends’ matters for a long time but letting go quickly once you have worked it out. Tian Tong Hua Ji takes its flavor from the Life Palace Hua Ji line: it looks after the mood, and when friends are at home you want everyone to be comfortable; Ju Men Hua Ji swallows its words back, and what you want to tell a roommate stays unsaid for a long time.
The Friends Palace tied to home’s Hua Ji: set a house understanding for visitors
The method can be simple: decide which spaces at home are open and which are not, tell the people you live with, and visitors will not have to guess. When a friend stays or there is a gathering, say roughly what time it ends; for things in shared spaces, agree on who tidies up.
If you care too much whether others are comfortable at your home, you can shrink looking after everyone down to looking after one person and let the rest look after themselves. This line looks at where your energy goes, not how good your social skills are; the main stars and the stars of the Friends Palace are the base color of your relationships.
Property Palace Hua Ji into the Career Palace
Property Palace Hua Ji flying into the Career Palace is about the concern for home flowing to work and career: the distance between where you live and work, the space for working from home, and your family’s views on your work can all take up your mind. This is the Flying Star school’s reading; it looks at where your energy goes and does not forecast your career.
The Career Palace shoulders home’s Hua Ji: where you live and where you work pull on each other
The Career Palace looks at work, career and how you get things done, and the Property Palace looks at home and the environment you stay in. When the Property Palace’s Hua Ji enters the Career Palace, there are several scenes: when working from home, the line between work and life is hard to draw; the length of the commute and the location of where you live are always a topic on your mind; family members have views about your work, and you are still answering them after work.
Some teachers read this line as home being the backing of a career, and the backing has to be looked after first for the career to run steadily. That is the teachers’ view, and it serves as a reminder that with trouble at home it is hard to concentrate at work. Opposite the Career Palace is the Spouse Palace, and in the usual Hua Ji clash reading, dealings with a partner or collaborators are also pulled in.
The Career Palace receiving Property Hua Ji: Hua Ji stars and the share of Empty Palaces
There are 21,918 charts where the Career Palace receives this line, about 8.3%. Tai Yin Hua Ji is 11%, and Tan Lang Hua Ji and Lian Zhen Hua Ji are about 8.8% each, slightly fewer. From the sample: Career Palace Self-Hua Ji is about 11%; the Property Palace is an Empty Palace in only about 7%, far fewer than the roughly one in six of an ordinary chart, so this line mostly appears in charts where the Property Palace has main stars.
For comparison, borrowing Xingge’s Life Palace Hua Ji temperament lines: Tai Yin Hua Ji draws feelings deep inside, and when working from home it often digests what troubles it alone; Lian Zhen Hua Ji has strong principles, and the rules of home and the rules of work often compete in the same evening.
The Career Palace carrying home’s Hua Ji: leave one border each for work and home
If you work from home, give work a fixed place and a fixed way of finishing, such as turning off the work screen or putting the computer in a drawer; if you do not work from home, treat the trip back as the time to switch over. As for your family’s views on your work, agree on a time to hear them out, and you need not reply on the spot every time.
Before changing jobs or homes, list the distance between home and work and your family’s arrangements and think them through one by one, which is easier than going by feeling. As for career choices, they still depend on the main stars of the Career Palace and your real circumstances.
Property Palace self-Hua Ji
Property Palace Self-Hua Ji, that is, Property Palace Hua Ji flying into the Property Palace: the Hua Ji star produced by the Property Palace stem happens to sit in this very palace, so the energy does not fly outward but circles around home matters. Xingge’s view of self-transformation is that it comes fast and fades fast; this is the Flying Star school’s reading.
Property Palace Self-Hua Ji: the Hua Ji star is inside home, and your thoughts circle around home
The method has three steps: use the stem of your birth year to set the stem of each of the twelve palaces; look up the Hua Ji star produced by the Property Palace stem (Jia Tai Yang, Yi Tai Yin, Bing Lian Zhen, Ding Ju Men, Wu Tian Ji, Ji Wen Qu, Geng Tian Tong, Xin Wen Chang, Ren Wu Qu, Gui Tan Lang); then see whether that star sits in the Property Palace. If it sits inside, the chart draws it as ↻, called outward self-transformation (離心自化).
Xingge reads Property Palace Self-Hua Ji this way: home or house matters often keep you worrying, and money tends to go there too. The Flying Star school’s plain version is that your thoughts go round in place within this palace: demands on home, ideas about décor, comparisons of places to live, thought over and over, yet it is also easier for you to work it out yourself. Some teachers read self-transformation as not being able to keep things, with the sense of security at home coming and going; that is another school’s view, and Xingge takes the more neutral reading.
Charts with Property Palace Self-Hua Ji: how many people, and how bright is the Hua Ji star
There are 21,612 charts with Property Palace Self-Hua Ji, about 8.2%. Tian Tong Hua Ji is about 11.0%, Tai Yin Hua Ji about 10.7%, and Lian Zhen, Tian Ji and Tai Yang Hua Ji about 9.3% each, so the ten stars differ by under two percentage points. About 20% are Wen Chang or Wen Qu self-transformation; when the Property Palace has no main star (about 3.5%), the Hua Ji star sitting in it can only be one of these two.
When the Hua Ji star is a main star, Miao or Wang is about 50% and Xian about 10%, in the higher brightness group. How brightness affects the reading, Xingge has not written down; some teachers say that when it is bright this concern is more like a drive to look after home well, and only when dim does it feel like plain wearing down from inside. The flavor is borrowed from Life Palace Hua Ji: Tian Tong Hua Ji keeps the mood soft and puts its own needs last, which at home means making family comfortable first; Tai Yin Hua Ji draws feelings deep inside, and dissatisfaction with home is often swallowed alone.
Property Palace Self-Hua Ji: how to bring the thoughts about home to an end
The nature of self-transformation is that it fades fast, so there is no need to press the thoughts down; give them somewhere to land. Whenever a home matter comes to mind, write it on a list, look at the list once a week, cross off what you have worked out, and for what you have not, ask yourself: is there one small action I can do today? Taking one small action works better than thinking it through again.
Xingge reminds you that long-term household spending should be planned first, so list the big items you expect to spend on at home ahead of time and prepare for them slowly. This line only says that you tend to think about home matters over and over; it is not a forecast, and not a verdict on any asset outcome. The main stars and the Three Harmonies and Four Directions are the base color of this palace.
Property Palace Hua Ji into the Fortune Palace
Why does how settled your home is decide whether you can relax? Property Palace Hua Ji flying into the Fortune Palace sends the concern for home into your inner life, and your interests and enjoyment mostly revolve around home too. This is the Flying Star school’s reading; it points to the direction of your thoughts and is not a judgment of your good fortune.
The Fortune Palace holds home’s Hua Ji: home is a place to rest, and also where worries come from
On Xingge the Fortune Palace looks at your inner life, interests and spiritual satisfaction. When the Property Palace’s Hua Ji flies into it, the scenes are these: the moment you get home you want to relax, yet an unfinished corner or an unanswered message from family holds you back; your interests also mostly take place at home, such as growing plants, cooking or tidying a collection, and if home is messy, your mind gets messy too.
Another school reads the Fortune Palace as enjoyment and money spent on yourself; then this line means you spend your enjoyment on home: you want home to be more comfortable and are willing to pay for that comfort. Both readings say that home is your spiritual base. The Hua Ji clash strikes the Wealth Palace, so some teachers add a line: home matters also connect to how you earn and spend.
Charts with Property Hua Ji in the Fortune Palace: the small group where connection and concern share one palace
There are 21,506 charts where the Property Palace Hua Ji flies into the Fortune Palace, about 8.2%. Wu Qu Hua Ji is about 11.1%, Tian Ji and Tai Yang Hua Ji about 8.6% each, and the rest about 10% each. In about 6% the Property Palace’s Hua Lu also flies into the Fortune Palace, so Lu and Ji fall in the same palace: Xingge says Hua Lu is where affinity begins and Hua Ji is where you cannot let go, so when both lines land in one palace, that palace has affinity and concern at once. Fortune Palace Self-Hua Ji is about 10%.
When the Fortune Palace holds Tan Lang alone it is about 11%, and Ju Men about 9%. For flavor, one more line from Xingge’s Life Palace Hua Ji description: Lian Zhen Hua Ji has a strong sense of principle and firm views on how home should look, and cannot settle when reality falls short; Tai Yin Hua Ji draws feelings deep inside, and dissatisfaction with home is often swallowed alone, so others think you are easygoing.
The Fortune Palace keeping home’s Hua Ji: keep an enjoyment for yourself at home
First keep a fixed place at home for your own interest, a chair or a cabinet will do, and do not let housework take that place. Then give home a standard for done, for example this month I only tidy one area, and when it is finished it counts, so you do not have to wait for home to be perfect before you relax.
If you find that relaxing is always interrupted by home matters, try gathering housework into one time slot and treating the other times as rest. This line speaks of where your energy goes and not of how much fortune you have; the main stars of the Fortune Palace and your interests are what show how you enjoy things.
Property Palace Hua Ji into the Parents Palace
Why do home decisions always have to consider the elders first? When the Property Palace Hua Ji lands in the Parents Palace, the Flying Star school reads the concern for home as tied to parents, elders (including bosses) and documents related to home; it describes how you get along with them and does not judge anyone.
The Parents Palace keeps home’s Hua Ji: home matters always carry the shadow of elders
On Xingge the Parents Palace looks at parents, elders, bosses and also documents. When the Property Palace’s Hua Ji flies in, the scenes are these: when you live together or nearby, home arrangements have to take the elders’ habits into account; matters of the family home and what elders think about where you live carry real weight in your mind. On the documents side, where the lease, insurance policies and various papers are kept also becomes something you keep in mind.
Other teachers see the Property Palace as ancestral property and what elders left behind; then this line means you take special care of that inheritance. That is the teachers’ extension and not what Xingge’s palace page means. The Hua Ji clash falls on the Health Palace, and what it strikes is stress and mood: elders’ matters may pull on your sense of load.
The Parents Palace receiving Property Hua Ji: Hua Ji stars and the share of Empty Palaces
There are 22,174 charts where the Property Palace Hua Ji is placed in the Parents Palace, about 8.4%. Wu Qu Hua Ji is about 12.0% and Ju Men Hua Ji about 8.4%, a gap of just over three percentage points, the clearest gap on this line. In about 22% the Parents Palace also has Self-Hua Ji, against an average of about 17% across the twelve lines; the Property Palace is an Empty Palace in about 9%.
For comparison, borrowing Xingge’s Life Palace Hua Ji temperament lines: Tai Yin Hua Ji draws feelings deep inside, and what you think about elders often stays in your heart and is not easily said; Tian Tong Hua Ji looks after the mood, and in home decisions you first think whether elders are comfortable and put your own opinion last.
The Parents Palace carrying home’s Hua Ji: a few ways to talk about home with elders
First narrow what you want to discuss to one thing: this time talk only about this year’s arrangements, not everything at once. Before talking, write down what you want and what you are willing to give way on, then listen to the other side. For documents, find one fixed place to keep them together and tell family where it is, so you need not dig for them when needed.
There is no standard answer for how you get along with elders, and you need not feel you must take on more because of this line. Treat it as a reminder: home matters and elders’ matters are often tied together, so first sort out which ones you can decide and which need a talk together.
