Qing Long (Azure Dragon) is the third of the Twelve Erudite Gods (Bo Shi). It brings happy energy: this palace often sees good news and unexpected gains. Chances will come; what matters is catching them when they do. To see which palace your Qing Long is in, draw your chart.

How Qing Long is placed

The Bo Shi set starts with Bo Shi in the Lu Cun palace, then Li Shi, then Qing Long. Men born in yang years and women born in yin years count forward, so Qing Long is two palaces ahead of Lu Cun; men born in yin years and women born in yang years count backward, so it's two palaces behind.

Once placed, the palace opposite Qing Long always holds Bing Fu, and its trines hold Fei Lian and Fu Bing. Joy on one side, and across from it Bing Fu, which reminds you to look after your routine. The two balance each other: where good things come often, the palace across asks you to slow down.

What the classics say, and how to read it now

The verse in volume two of the (The Complete Book of Zi Wei Dou Shu), in the An Shi Er Gong Tai Sui Sha Lu Jue section, says "Qing Long brings joy, Xiao Hao is money." Where volume two lists each star's element, it also says:

Qing Long is Wood and rules joy.

The Tai Wei Fu says "Li Shi and Jiang Jun with Qing Long display power and influence," setting Qing Long beside Li Shi and Jiang Jun. So the classics saw Qing Long as more than happy events: it also carries a sense of being noticed and lifted up.

Read for today, Xingge takes Qing Long to mean more good news in this palace: invitations, opportunities and other people's goodwill often come from here. It doesn't guarantee results; it just means the door gets knocked on more often. The thing to watch is that with plenty of chances arriving, your choosing has to keep up. You don't have to take every one.
