Who has this void
Chen-Si void covers the ten Day pillars of the Jia Wu decade: Jia Wu, Yi Wei, Bing Shen, Ding You, Wu Xu, Ji Hai, Geng Zi, Xin Chou, Ren Yin and Gui Mao. The ten stems run out at Gui Mao, so Chen and Si are left without a stem; those two are the void branches.
Pillars that fall void in your chart
If the Year pillar is void, ties to family tradition are looser, and you often take a different road from the generation before. In the Month pillar, support from your background, parents or siblings may not quite arrive, and you find your footing through your own expertise. In the Hour pillar, children, later life and long-term plans call for patience and adjusting as you go. Chen is Earth and Si is Fire; the classics call Chen and Si the Door of Earth, and this group is often read as highly adaptable to real-world conditions and inclined to unconventional paths. If these elements are favorable for you, their help is muted; if unfavorable, their pressure eases. When Xu clashes Chen, Hai clashes Si, or You or Shen combines with them in your chart, the void is filled.
Getting through void years
Your void years were 2024 (Jia Chen) and 2025 (Yi Si), and the next pair is 2036 (Bing Chen) and 2037 (Ding Si). A BaZi year begins at Li Chun, around February 4, so the 2024 round ended at Li Chun 2026. Each year, the Chen and Si months, roughly early April to early June, are a smaller void. Void years and months suit tidying up, study and making what you have solid. Prepare big new launches and settle them once the stretch has passed; anything already under way can carry on.

Can my Day branch be void?
Not when the void is counted from the Day pillar. The void branches come from the ten-day group your Day pillar belongs to, and the Day pillar is inside that group, so only the Year, Month and Hour branches, along with luck pillars and years, can be void.
Which months are my void months?
For Chen-Si void, they are the Chen and Si months. BaZi months follow the solar terms: the Chen month starts at Qing Ming, around April 5, and the Si month ends just before Mang Zhong, around June 6. They come every year, are milder than void years, and are a good time to tidy up and recharge.
