Purple Star career finderHow do you tend to work best?

First your work style, then the three directions out of 72 careers that fit you somewhat better, each with the chart evidence behind it.

How the score works

First we collect the work-related signals on your chart: the main stars and their brightness in your Career, Life, Travel and Wealth palaces, the minor stars, the birth-year and palace-stem transformations, and patterns such as Sha Po Lang or Ji Yue Tong Liang. Each signal turns into a concrete trait. Tian Ma plus a “four horses” branch, for example, becomes “you can’t sit still, and the more you get out there, the more chances you find”.

The traits then build two things. First, your work style on four axes (employed or your own boss, big organization or small team, leading people or deep expertise, rooted locally or on the move), each showing which stars on your chart point that way. Second, scores for 72 careers, from which the top three different fields become your directions, with job titles as examples. It shows which traits stand out in you compared with most people; it does not mean other work is closed to you.

Where the rules come from

The rules were compiled from around 60 Chinese-language articles and teaching notes on Zi Wei Dou Shu, keeping only combinations that several sources agree on. Where sources contradict each other, for example on whether Qi Sha suits running a business, we add nothing. Careers that rest on a single source are scored down. Star brightness and the transformations follow the classical Complete Book of Zi Wei Dou Shu.

FAQ

My result doesn’t match my current job. Did I choose wrong?

No. The result shows which traits are especially strong in you. Most jobs can be done in many ways, and bringing these traits into your current work is often more practical than switching.

Is it true that a “four horses” Life Palace suits sales?

Articles usually describe Yin, Shen, Si and Hai (the “four horses”) as busy and restless, but that describes a work rhythm rather than a specific job. So it carries little weight here. Sales and field work only rise clearly when Tian Ma or a Lu star joins it (Lu Ma Jiao Chi).

Why do you need my birth hour?

Which cell holds your Life and Career palaces depends on your birth month and hour together. A different hour reshuffles the palaces, and the result can change a lot.

Why not just name one best job?

People with the same chart may be doctors or engineers; what a chart speaks to more reliably is how you work, where you thrive and what drives you. So we lead with your work style, then give three directions with job titles as examples.

Do you store my birthday?

No. The chart is calculated on the server and thrown away. Only if you tap to see your full chart is it kept in your browser, the same way the normal chart page works.
