C-section timing
Once your doctor has given you the possible dates, see the baby’s chart for each date and hour side by side. We show traits, not rankings. The choice is yours.
On this page
This tool only compares chart traits. It is not medical advice. Whether to have a C-section, and on which day, is for your doctor to decide.
What this tool does, and what it doesn’t
What it does: within the dates your doctor has confirmed, it draws the baby’s chart for each date and hour and lists the Life Palace star, tendencies in personality, learning and friendships, and the Ba Zi four pillars and five elements. Add the parents’ birthdays to also see how the baby relates to each parent.
What it doesn’t do: it never suggests whether to have a C-section, never picks a “best hour”, and says nothing about health. Every hour has its strengths and things to watch, so we lay out what the charts show and leave the choice to the parents.
Medical guidance is that, without a medical reason, a planned C-section should not happen before 39 weeks. So this tool only compares dates from 7 days before the due date; for anything earlier, follow your doctor.
Why the main star changes from slot to slot
In Purple Star Astrology, the Life Palace is set by the lunar month and hour of birth, and the position of Zi Wei depends on the lunar day. So at the same hour, a day or two later can bring a different main star; on the same day, a different hour moves the Life Palace too.
Watch for Lunar New Year: a birth just before or after it has a different year stem, so the four transformations (Lu, Quan, Ke and Ji) fall on different stars. The table marks the day the year or lunar month changes.
How to use it
Start with the whole table, pick a few slots you care about, and compare them side by side. “What matters most to you” highlights the slots that fit, and each one shows why, for example “Wen Chang in the Career Palace”.
Surgery times often change, so pick a backup slot as well. Once the baby is born, draw a chart from the actual time of birth: that is the baby’s real chart.
FAQ
Is this only for C-sections?
Yes. It is for families whose doctor has already scheduled a C-section. With a vaginal birth the time can’t be set in advance, so simply draw the chart after the baby is born.
Why not just tell me the best hour?
Every chart has strengths and things to watch; none is good in every way. A ranking would squeeze all of that into one score, so we lay out the traits and the reasons and let parents choose by what matters to them.
Why can’t I pick dates before 39 weeks?
Medical guidance is that, without a medical reason, a planned C-section should not happen before 39 weeks. Whether to deliver earlier should depend on the mother and baby, as judged by the doctor, not on the hour.
What if the surgery time changes?
That happens a lot. Pick a backup slot, and after the birth, draw the real chart from the actual time.
Why show both Purple Star and Ba Zi?
Many families also look at Ba Zi, so we list the four pillars and five elements too. The two systems look from different angles; read them side by side rather than asking which one is right.
Is my information saved?
No. The due date, the dates and the parents’ birthdays are used for this calculation only and are never stored.
