See them in your chart

You only need your birth date, not theirs. Pick someone and see how they show up in your chart: what they’re like, how they handle money, how they treat you, and how this year looks between you.

What is palace rotation?

Six of the twelve palaces in Zi Wei Dou Shu are about the people around you: the Spouse Palace for your partner, the Parents Palace for parents and bosses, the Children Palace for kids, the Siblings Palace for brothers and sisters, and the Friends Palace for friends and coworkers. Rotating the palaces means treating one of them as that person’s Life Palace and counting out their twelve palaces from there.

Take the Spouse Palace as your partner’s Life Palace and count on: their Wealth Palace lands on your Travel Palace, and their Spouse Palace, which is you as they see you, lands on your Wealth Palace.

Who you are really reading

Rotation reads the version of them in your chart: the kind of person you tend to meet and how you experience them. It won’t always match their own chart. The same person looks different to different people.

To see how two people actually fit, you need both birth dates and a compatibility reading that puts the two charts side by side.

FAQ

Can I use this without their birth date?

Yes. Rotation only uses your own chart, so it reads them as they appear in yours.

Why do parents and bosses use the same palace?

The Parents Palace covers elders, bosses and the people who look after you, so both start there. The difference is where you sit in their chart: their Children Palace for parents, their Friends Palace for a boss.

What if that palace has no main star?

An empty palace borrows the main stars from the palace opposite, with a lighter touch. The result notes this under “How this was worked out”.
