How a year is read
The yearly Life Palace is the square of the year's branch, for example the Wei square in a Wei year; whichever of your palaces that is becomes the year's main stage. The year's stem sets the yearly transformations: Lu brings resources, Quan brings control and pressure, Ke brings reputation and helpers, and Ji marks what needs more of your attention.
Zi Wei Dou Shu changes year at Lunar New Year; before it, the previous year still applies.
FAQ
Is it bad if Ji lands in one of my palaces?
Ji means something weighs on your mind: that area takes more of your attention and you may hold on tighter. Knowing it early lets you leave room to deal with it.
How do the year and the decade work together?
The decade sets a ten-year theme and the year sets this year's focus. When both point at the same area, such as work, it stands out that year.
