What the Fire 6 · Lian Zhen type is like

Fire on Fire, like a spotlight trained on one person on stage. A Fire 6 Lian Zhen has concentrated heat and a strong presence, and when they walk into a room it is hard not to notice.

Lian Zhen meets the Fire 6 Bureau

Lian Zhen is Fire and so is the Fire 6 Bureau; two fires stacked together give this Lian Zhen concentrated heat and loves and hates in sharp relief. Of the six pairings, Lian Zhen with Po Jun, alone and with Tan Lang are slightly more common, and with Tian Fu the least. The Shen, You, Si, Wu and Wei branches together hold more than half. Average (Ping) is about 34%, Profit (Li) a little over 30%, and Temple (Miao) in Yin or Shen and Fallen (Xian) in Si or Hai around 17% each.

Work and money

A rhyme in the Complete Book says “Lian Zhen with no malefic stars added: a name that spreads far.” With Fire on Fire they are easily seen already, so in Fire 6 the line means this: the reputation is there; keeping it clean is their own job. They suit work that runs on personal charisma and strong positions: performance, sales, legal advocacy, commentary, founding a company. With money they spend with flair and like to do things in one go; a reserve they cannot touch keeps them from panicking when the heat dies down.

Love and getting along

In love they are intense, obvious when they love, and capable of jealousy. With Fire on Fire their feelings arrive fast, and a partner can feel they are on a roller coaster. What they need is someone who does not mind the heat but has a centre of their own; a steady partner gives their fire somewhere to land.

When things get stuck

Stand under a spotlight too long and you dry out: always out front, always performing, they get tired and tend to scorch the people around them. The usual snag is refusing to leave the stage. Schedule a few stretches where nobody is watching, phone off, doing something no one will know about. Once the light is off, they come back to themselves.

The rhythm of the 10-year periods

Fire 6 starts late, and a Lian Zhen here only begins the periods at age 6 (counted the traditional way), spending the first decade on the Life Palace, changing palace for the first time at 16, then at 26 and 36. For an impatient star, a late start is a gift: a few extra years of childhood not hurried along by any period's theme, so that when the periods do begin, they have a better idea of where they want to burn.

Where it comes from in Purple Star Astrology

In this type Lian Zhen leads the Life Palace. The Life Palace is the one of twelve that says who you are, and its main star sets your base color; when two main stars share it, the first one counts.

The bureau is the Fire 6 Bureau. The Five Elements Bureau comes from the Nayin of your Life Palace stem and branch; it places the Zi Wei star on the chart and sets the age your first 10-year period starts, which is 6 for this bureau. No bureau is better than another; Xingge reads it as a flavour of the same persona.

FAQ

Is Lian Zhen with Tan Lang in Si or Hai a weaker placement?

Lian Zhen with Tan Lang always sits in Si or Hai, and both stars are Fallen (Xian) there. Fallen means the star's strength turns in a different direction, not that it is bad. Lian Zhen's principles and Tan Lang's desires pull against each other in the same palace, and this type is often multi-talented, with strong desires and strong self-control alike. The expanded Taiwei Fu says “Wu Qu, Po Jun, Lian Zhen and Tan Lang are certainly deep in their schemes and become noble and eminent”; the old writers saw strategy in these stars. Today it reads as: think it through before acting, and desire becomes drive. In Fire 6, roughly one Lian Zhen in six is in this position.

Does a Fire 6 Lian Zhen get along with a Qi Sha person?

Both are strong personalities, and together they are like two fires: passionate, and quick to flare. Qi Sha charges ahead, Lian Zhen holds to principle, so in a joint project one clears the path and the other sets the rules, which can be very efficient. Agree first on who handles what, and in an argument agree to cool off for ten minutes before talking, so the fire does not jump its bounds.

How common is the Fire 6 · Lian Zhen type?

Out of 262,980 charts cast for every day and every two-hour period from 1950–2009, 4,388 have Lian Zhen leading the Life Palace and the Fire 6 Bureau: about 1.7%, roughly 1 in 60 people. Every day and hour is counted equally, so this is not the actual birth distribution of a population.

Why can two people born on the same day be different types?

Where your Life Palace falls depends on your birth month and birth hour, and your Five Elements Bureau comes from the stem and branch of that palace. So on the same day, one two-hour period later moves the Life Palace by one, and the main star and bureau can both change. The twelve hours of a single day usually produce several different types.

What is the Five Elements Bureau?

The Five Elements Bureau is the Nayin element of your Life Palace stem and branch: Water 2, Wood 3, Metal 4, Earth 5 or Fire 6. The number places the Zi Wei star on the chart and is also the age your first 10-year period begins (2 for Water, 6 for Fire). A bigger number is not better or worse; Xingge reads the element as a flavour of the same persona.

How is this different from MBTI?

MBTI comes from a questionnaire about how you see yourself. An Xingge type comes from your birth date and time, with nothing to answer, and the same birth details always give the same type. They work well side by side: MBTI describes your current habits, the chart describes your underlying nature and the rhythm of your life.

Which type do I get if my Life Palace has two main stars?

When two main stars share the Life Palace, the one listed first (in the order of the Zi Wei and Tian Fu star groups) sets the persona, the same as on your chart page. A Life Palace with no main star is the Empty Palace: the Traveler.

A type looks only at the Life Palace and the bureau: the roughest outline of a chart. People of the same type differ in the Body Palace, the surrounding palaces and the transformations.
