What the Fire 6 · Tian Fu type is like

Keep the stove burning and the rice in the pot never goes cold. A Fire 6 Tian Fu is nourished by the warmth around them; their good fortune often comes from the people close to them, and goes back to them too.

Tian Fu meets the Fire 6 Bureau

Fire produces Earth, so the bureau feeds the star: the Fire of Fire 6 keeps warming Tian Fu's Earth, and this Tian Fu often feels there is someone behind them. All of them are Tian Fu alone. The Mao, Hai and Chou branches are the most common, about 20% each, with Si, Wei and You each a little over 10%. Gain (De) is over 50%, Temple (Miao) in Chou or Wei about 33%, and Prosperous (Wang), in You, the least common. The three Qi Sha pairings opposite split almost exactly 33% each, the most even of the five bureaus.

Work and money

Master Xiyi calls Tian Fu “the star of the Southern Dipper that lengthens life and frees from distress; it is also called the Si Ming, keeper of fate.” In Fire 6, freeing from distress often shows up as a gift for picking up the pieces: when something goes wrong at home or a company hits a crisis, they are the one who cooks a pot of hot food and gets everyone settled. Caring management roles suit them: running restaurants, social welfare organisations, hospital administration, the logistics of a family business. With money they will spend on family and those close to them, treating, topping up, looking after, but they keep accounts in their head.

Love and getting along

In love they are warm and home-loving, and caring for someone means caring for their stomach and their daily life. With Fire feeding Earth, they are used to being supported by those around them and to repaying it with support. Partners often feel their life is beautifully looked after, and on the occasions the partner does the cooking, they are genuinely moved.

When things get stuck

A stove burning too hot boils the pot dry: looking after everyone, holding everything together, they forget they need looking after too. The other snag is treating rescue as a duty and wanting to take on anyone's trouble. Set aside a stretch each week that is just for themselves; turn the flame down a little, and the pot will not run dry.

The rhythm of the 10-year periods

Fire 6 starts latest, and a Tian Fu here enters the periods only at age 6 (counted the traditional way), spending ten years on the Life Palace, first changing palace at 16, then at 26 and 36. With a late start and the first period on the Life Palace, the first thing a treasury star tends is its own store and home; once that warmth has taken shape, wherever they go afterwards they want to recreate it.

Where it comes from in Purple Star Astrology

In this type Tian Fu leads the Life Palace. The Life Palace is the one of twelve that says who you are, and its main star sets your base color; when two main stars share it, the first one counts.

The bureau is the Fire 6 Bureau. The Five Elements Bureau comes from the Nayin of your Life Palace stem and branch; it places the Zi Wei star on the chart and sets the age your first 10-year period starts, which is 6 for this bureau. No bureau is better than another; Xingge reads it as a flavour of the same persona.

FAQ

Tian Fu is “lucky in any palace.” Does that mean everything is fine regardless?

The Complete Book does say “this star is lucky in any palace” and that “on the whole this star mostly means good fortune,” so the old writers were indeed generous with Tian Fu. But the same passage says that “if it meets emptiness, it is isolated,” so the emptiness stars need a separate look. The modern reading: Tian Fu's base is steady and brings a measure of security wherever it sits, but security is not the same as having nothing to do. A Fire 6 Tian Fu, nourished by their surroundings, should especially remember to take action themselves.

Does a Fire 6 Tian Fu get along with a Tai Yang person?

Together, the pattern is often Tai Yang shining outside while Tian Fu keeps the home, and in five-element terms it flows too, since Tai Yang's Fire produces Tian Fu's Earth. Tai Yang is warm and outgoing, Tian Fu steady and reserved, a good complement. Tai Yang can pour all their energy outward and Tian Fu can focus only on home, so agree on a stretch of time each week that belongs to the two of them.

How common is the Fire 6 · Tian Fu type?

Out of 262,980 charts cast for every day and every two-hour period from 1950–2009, 2,229 have Tian Fu leading the Life Palace and the Fire 6 Bureau: about 0.8%, roughly 1 in 118 people. Every day and hour is counted equally, so this is not the actual birth distribution of a population.

Why can two people born on the same day be different types?

Where your Life Palace falls depends on your birth month and birth hour, and your Five Elements Bureau comes from the stem and branch of that palace. So on the same day, one two-hour period later moves the Life Palace by one, and the main star and bureau can both change. The twelve hours of a single day usually produce several different types.

What is the Five Elements Bureau?

The Five Elements Bureau is the Nayin element of your Life Palace stem and branch: Water 2, Wood 3, Metal 4, Earth 5 or Fire 6. The number places the Zi Wei star on the chart and is also the age your first 10-year period begins (2 for Water, 6 for Fire). A bigger number is not better or worse; Xingge reads the element as a flavour of the same persona.

How is this different from MBTI?

MBTI comes from a questionnaire about how you see yourself. An Xingge type comes from your birth date and time, with nothing to answer, and the same birth details always give the same type. They work well side by side: MBTI describes your current habits, the chart describes your underlying nature and the rhythm of your life.

Which type do I get if my Life Palace has two main stars?

When two main stars share the Life Palace, the one listed first (in the order of the Zi Wei and Tian Fu star groups) sets the persona, the same as on your chart page. A Life Palace with no main star is the Empty Palace: the Traveler.

A type looks only at the Life Palace and the bureau: the roughest outline of a chart. People of the same type differ in the Body Palace, the surrounding palaces and the transformations.
