What the Earth 5 · Tian Fu type is like
A granary built on high ground fears neither flood nor famine. Earth on Earth, an Earth 5 Tian Fu is solid and settled, the person who gives everyone around them a sense of security.
Tian Fu meets the Earth 5 Bureau
Tian Fu is Earth and so is the Earth 5 Bureau; two layers of Earth give this Tian Fu a low centre of gravity that is hard to shake. All of them are Tian Fu alone. The Chou and Hai branches are the most common, about 20% each, and the other four each get over 10%, a fairly even spread. Gain (De) is close to 50%, Temple (Miao) in Chou or Wei a little over 30%, and Prosperous (Wang), in You, under 20%. The three Qi Sha pairings opposite are split almost evenly too.
Work and money
The Complete Book's Xingxing Fu says “Tian Fu is a venerable star, and it too gives a pure and mild build.” Pure and mild means unmixed and unhurried, and Earth on Earth magnifies that into a steady presence: they speak without haste, work in order, and when a meeting descends into chaos, people find themselves looking their way. Roles built on long-term trust suit them: senior managers, family elders, people running long-established businesses, finance directors. With money they are cautious and like tangible assets that can be passed on, land, property, gold; before investing they ask “what is the worst case?” three times.
Love and getting along
In love they are steady and dependable, not especially romantic, but a promise once made holds. People with Earth on Earth change slowly, so a partner who wants to adjust something should give them time and raise one thing at a time. Their love is long-term; looking back after ten years, you realise they were there all along.
When things get stuck
A granary too full, with the doors shut too tight, lets what is inside go stale: so cautious they try nothing new, and life is safe but increasingly dull. The inertia of Earth on Earth is strong. Open a window now and then, a new restaurant, a new route to work, so that stability does not turn into standing still.
The rhythm of the 10-year periods
A granary fills year by year, and an Earth 5 Tian Fu's periods also take their time: they start only at age 5 (counted the traditional way), with the first on the Life Palace and changes at 15, 25 and 35. The unhurried start suits the star: build their own granary solidly before dealing with the world outside. At each change they do not rush to commit, but look first at what the new palace needs stored.

Where it comes from in Purple Star Astrology
In this type Tian Fu leads the Life Palace. The Life Palace is the one of twelve that says who you are, and its main star sets your base color; when two main stars share it, the first one counts.
The bureau is the Earth 5 Bureau. The Five Elements Bureau comes from the Nayin of your Life Palace stem and branch; it places the Zi Wei star on the chart and sets the age your first 10-year period starts, which is 5 for this bureau. No bureau is better than another; Xingge reads it as a flavour of the same persona.

FAQ
What work suits an Earth 5 Tian Fu?
Roles that call for long-term trust and managing resources: finance director, senior manager, running a family business, property, insurance. In a stable environment they grow weightier over time; constant change and jobs that demand reinvention every quarter wear down their patience.
How is this Tian Fu different from Tian Fu sharing a palace with Zi Wei or Wu Qu?
An Xingge type looks only at the first main star listed in the Life Palace. When Tian Fu shares the palace with Zi Wei, Wu Qu or Lian Zhen, those stars come first, so those people belong to the Zi Wei, Wu Qu and Lian Zhen types. Tian Fu in this type always sits alone, the only main star in the Life Palace, with Qi Sha fixed opposite. A paired Tian Fu shares the lead with another main star; a solo Tian Fu runs the household itself and decides alone how the treasury is kept. In Earth 5, Earth on Earth, that self-reliance shows even more: the numbers get settled before a decision, and once it is made, it is followed through. To compare with friends who have Zi Wei and Tian Fu or Wu Qu and Tian Fu, look at those types.
How common is the Earth 5 · Tian Fu type?
Out of 262,980 charts cast for every day and every two-hour period from 1950–2009, 2,155 have Tian Fu leading the Life Palace and the Earth 5 Bureau: about 0.8%, roughly 1 in 122 people. Every day and hour is counted equally, so this is not the actual birth distribution of a population.
Why can two people born on the same day be different types?
Where your Life Palace falls depends on your birth month and birth hour, and your Five Elements Bureau comes from the stem and branch of that palace. So on the same day, one two-hour period later moves the Life Palace by one, and the main star and bureau can both change. The twelve hours of a single day usually produce several different types.
What is the Five Elements Bureau?
The Five Elements Bureau is the Nayin element of your Life Palace stem and branch: Water 2, Wood 3, Metal 4, Earth 5 or Fire 6. The number places the Zi Wei star on the chart and is also the age your first 10-year period begins (2 for Water, 6 for Fire). A bigger number is not better or worse; Xingge reads the element as a flavour of the same persona.
How is this different from MBTI?
MBTI comes from a questionnaire about how you see yourself. An Xingge type comes from your birth date and time, with nothing to answer, and the same birth details always give the same type. They work well side by side: MBTI describes your current habits, the chart describes your underlying nature and the rhythm of your life.
Which type do I get if my Life Palace has two main stars?
When two main stars share the Life Palace, the one listed first (in the order of the Zi Wei and Tian Fu star groups) sets the persona, the same as on your chart page. A Life Palace with no main star is the Empty Palace: the Traveler.
A type looks only at the Life Palace and the bureau: the roughest outline of a chart. People of the same type differ in the Body Palace, the surrounding palaces and the transformations.
