What the Water 2 · Po Jun type is like
A great wave is magnificent from a distance and will sweep you off your feet up close, and that is how a Water 2 Po Jun comes across. Every change they make moves the whole sea, and the people around them either ride the wave or get soaked.
Po Jun meets the Water 2 Bureau
The Xing Yuan Lun in the first volume says: “Po Jun (water) in Zi is in its place of prosperity, like the waves of a great sea surging, to be admired from afar but not leaned on up close.” Po Jun is Water and so is the Water 2 Bureau, water on water, which is exactly that picture of a huge wave. The ancients' “admired from afar but not leaned on up close” reads today as energy so strong that others need to find the right distance not to be carried off. Most striking is where they sit: close to 28% are in Zi, the very “place of prosperity” the Xing Yuan Lun names, and with Wu added, Zi and Wu together come to about 41%, the most of any bureau, which a Xingge chart marks as Ying Xing Ru Miao (Hero Star in Its Temple). The rest fall in Chen and Xu at Prosperous (Wang) or Yin and Shen at Gain (De).
Work and money
Their way of working is the complete overhaul: not a small change but the whole set replaced. Transformations, post-merger integration, rebrands, replacing an entire system: the bigger the job, the more energy they bring. With money, income and spending both move like tides, surging in and draining out fast. Drawing themselves a low-tide line, a figure below which they stop adding more, keeps the wave from sweeping them away too.
Love and getting along
In love they go in deep, with everything they have. But their changes ripple out to the partner as well: “I'm thinking of moving to another city” is a fresh start for them and a complete reshuffle of life for the other person. They need someone who swims well and can keep up with the waves, and they need to remember, before each big turn, to let the partner know where the wave is coming from.
When things get stuck
When the waves come too often, nothing stays on the shore. They tend to solve problems by starting over, and some relationships, jobs and plans that only needed mending get washed away along with the rest. Before deciding to overturn everything, a question helps: does this need tearing down, or just patching? The other thing is warning people. Change itself does not scare them, but others need time to find something to hold on to.
The rhythm of the 10-year periods
The first period is Po Jun's own Life Palace, which Water 2 enters at age 2 (counted the traditional way), and for ten years they live inside the big wave. This type often comes to know themselves through a sense of “I seem to be different; I want to take things apart and look inside.” In that Life Palace decade, Po Jun's taking apart and rebuilding is their first way of understanding the world. The first change comes at 12, then 22 and 32, and in each later period they apply that method to different people and different things.

Where it comes from in Purple Star Astrology
In this type Po Jun leads the Life Palace. The Life Palace is the one of twelve that says who you are, and its main star sets your base color; when two main stars share it, the first one counts.
The bureau is the Water 2 Bureau. The Five Elements Bureau comes from the Nayin of your Life Palace stem and branch; it places the Zi Wei star on the chart and sets the age your first 10-year period starts, which is 2 for this bureau. No bureau is better than another; Xingge reads it as a flavour of the same persona.

FAQ
Does a Water 2 Po Jun have the Ying Xing Ru Miao (Hero Star in Its Temple) pattern?
On a Xingge chart the pattern means Po Jun alone in the Life Palace in Zi or Wu. About 41% of this type sit there, the highest share of the five bureaus; those in Chen, Xu, Yin or Shen do not count. The Gu Sui Fu in the first volume says “Po Jun in Zi or Wu: promotion and more income,” and the ancients saw this as the position from which Po Jun could make the biggest name. Today it reads as the strongest position for opening new ground and driving reform.
Do the people around a Water 2 Po Jun get worn out?
They can, especially when Po Jun starts moving without explaining first. Their changes are big, and others need time to adjust. Two things help most: give advance notice before big decisions, so people have time to prepare, and afterwards look back to see who got soaked and lend a hand. Do both, and the people around them are usually glad to ride the wave with them.
How common is the Water 2 · Po Jun type?
Out of 262,980 charts cast for every day and every two-hour period from 1950–2009, 2,157 have Po Jun leading the Life Palace and the Water 2 Bureau: about 0.8%, roughly 1 in 122 people. Every day and hour is counted equally, so this is not the actual birth distribution of a population.
Why can two people born on the same day be different types?
Where your Life Palace falls depends on your birth month and birth hour, and your Five Elements Bureau comes from the stem and branch of that palace. So on the same day, one two-hour period later moves the Life Palace by one, and the main star and bureau can both change. The twelve hours of a single day usually produce several different types.
What is the Five Elements Bureau?
The Five Elements Bureau is the Nayin element of your Life Palace stem and branch: Water 2, Wood 3, Metal 4, Earth 5 or Fire 6. The number places the Zi Wei star on the chart and is also the age your first 10-year period begins (2 for Water, 6 for Fire). A bigger number is not better or worse; Xingge reads the element as a flavour of the same persona.
How is this different from MBTI?
MBTI comes from a questionnaire about how you see yourself. An Xingge type comes from your birth date and time, with nothing to answer, and the same birth details always give the same type. They work well side by side: MBTI describes your current habits, the chart describes your underlying nature and the rhythm of your life.
Which type do I get if my Life Palace has two main stars?
When two main stars share the Life Palace, the one listed first (in the order of the Zi Wei and Tian Fu star groups) sets the persona, the same as on your chart page. A Life Palace with no main star is the Empty Palace: the Traveler.
A type looks only at the Life Palace and the bureau: the roughest outline of a chart. People of the same type differ in the Body Palace, the surrounding palaces and the transformations.
